About IndexPDF
Software for careful book-index production
A ¶↳ Publication Intelligence project built to make AI indexing faster, clearer, and accountable to the book.
Origin
Three wishes became IndexPDF
In 2019, John Camden built Djinndex for a complex 1,104-page reference work. It accelerated author and Scripture indexing, but subject indexing remained out of reach. Modern language models changed that—without replacing the need for human judgment.

AI changed the work, not the need for judgment
IndexPDF builds a strong draft and keeps every entry tied to its source passage. Authors, editors, and professional indexers still decide what matters, how readers will look for it, and how the final index should be structured.
Private beta, deliberately scoped
The beta supports subject, author, and Scripture index drafts from final paginated PDFs. Participation is limited while the workflow is tested against real books and editorial needs.
